Come read the different socialization experiences that your classmates engaged in during their time at Cal.
If you’re thinking about using substances for the first time, start slow. Be honest with yourself and others about your inexperience. I was not a partygoer in high school. My parents were strict and I spent most of my time studying or with family. Turns out my new friends never drank either. So we all felt more supported saying no to anything we weren’t ready to try." |
My first year of college - everything was so new to me that I kept searching for similar things in high school. For example, one thing that was really new to me was nonuniform lunch breaks. For me, lunch breaks in high school were critical in reconnecting with or making new friends, but now everyone has their own unique lunch break! What made me feel at home in Cal was eating dinner with my roommates every night. I recommend asking classmates or roommates to grab lunch or dinner with you. Make time to nourish yourself with good food and good vibes!"
